WAEC releases 2015 SSCE results, withholds over 118,000 results of students in “debtor states”
August 10, 2015
The West African School Certificate, WAEC, just released the result of the May/June 2015 Senior School Certificate Examination (SSCE).
At least 1.5 million students participated in the examination.
No less than 118,101 results are being withheld for examination malpractice or thereabout, WAEC Head of National Office, Mr. Charles Eguridu, told reporters during a press conference on Monday.
Results of students in public schools where state governments owe WAEC have also being withheld.
WAEC said the affected students will not have their results until the debt is settled.
WAEC had initially claimed that 19 states, where governments help students pay for WAEC, owed it about N4 billion.
Some states indicted in the debt row denied owing WAEC.
