UNIOSUN shuts down campus following Air Force officers’ assault on students

The management of the Osun State University has shut down the school’s campus for a week after Air Force officers’ alleged assault on some students.

Students and workers at the institution were allegedly beaten by the officers on Tuesday afternoon (today).

A statement signed on behalf of the Acting Registrar said the students are expected back on campus on May 31.

The statement read, “The Vice Chancellor has approved that all students of Ipetu Ijesa Campus of Osun State University should proceed on one week break from today Tuesday May 23, 2017.

“The break is necessitated by the invasion of the campus and brutalisations of our staff and students by the men of the Nigerian Airforce Safety Institute, Ipetu Ijesa.

“Students are expected back on the campus on Wednesday 31st May 2017.”
