UK Opens Premium Visa Centres in Enugu, Port Harcourt to Ease Summer Travel Rush

VFS Global has launched two Premium Visa Application Centres in Enugu and Port Harcourt that will allow residents in the Nigeria’s South-East and South-South region apply for UK visas.

Announced by the UK Home Office on Monday, the new centres would be located at Omedel Luxury Hotel, Enugu, and Hotel Presidential, Port Harcourt and are aimed at meeting rising demand, especially during the busy summer season.

“In 2024, we received more than 230,000 visa applications from Nigerian nationals across all routes,” said Rt. Hon. Lord Hanson, the UK Minister of State at the Home Office.

“These new premium centres reflect the importance of the UK–Nigeria relationship and will provide greater convenience for applicants in and around Enugu and Rivers State.”

The UK government said appointments can be booked online via the VFS Global platform. These new facilities join the existing visa centres in Abuja, Ikeja, and Victoria Island, Lagos, which have been operational since late 2024.

Alok Singhal, Head of Sub-Saharan Africa at VFS Global, added that applicants will enjoy “the same comfort, convenience, and best-in-class services” available at centres in Abuja and Lagos.

He noted that the expansion is “part of our commitment to make the visa process smoother and more accessible to a wider range of customers.”

Applicants using the premium centres can also benefit from optional services like passport retention, courier return, and real-time application status updates.

VFS Global, a longtime partner of UK Visas and Immigration since 2003, currently operates over 3,500 centres in 158 countries.
