Two people testifying against former Adamawa governor in N29bn fraud case die mysteriously

Two witnesses testifying against former Governor of Adamawa, Murtala Nyako have died mysteriously since making very vital revelations, the court heard on Tuesday.

A detective with the EFCC, Adekunle Odofin made the revelation at the Federal High Court, sitting in Maitama, Abuja.

Odofin told the court that the two witnesses were very vital to the prosecution of the case.

Nyako, alongside his son Senator Abdul-Aziz Nyako and two others, Abubakar Aliyu and Zulkifikk Abba, are facing a 37-count charge of criminal conspiracy, stealing, abuse of office and money laundering.

They had allegedly misappropriated a N29 billion sum through five companies – Blue Opal Limited, Sebore Farms & Extension Limited, Pagoda Fortunes Limited, Tower Assets Management Limited and Crust Energy Limited.

Odofin testified as the twentieth prosecution witness against the defendants on Tuesday.
