August 28, 2018
Two South African ladies have been sentenced to 18 and 14 years jail terms respectively, for burning a 19-year-old girl to death three years ago.
Gugulethu Thwala and Koketso Moyo, along with others, recorded and laughed at their victim, Boitumelo Dlamini as she screamed in agony after they set her on fire for dating one of their boyfriends.
They had kidnapped Dlamini at Eletsa High School in Letlhabile near Brits on June 18, 2015, after Mosopi accused her of dating her boyfriend.
The South African High Court convicted the ladies of murder and both got an additional 5 years for kidnapping.
Two others, Mosopi and Victor Pilane await their fates for their roles in the murder of the schoolgirl.
