Three men arrested for snatching woman’s handbag in Lagos
Yusuf Salami, Lateef Bello and Qudus Kareem allegedly robbed a woman of her handbag containing a mobile phone and some amount of cash.
The three men were said to have been arrested in Lagos after they were caught with the mobile phone valued at N144,000 and N35,000 cash.
The suspects, facing charges of conspiracy and robbery, were brought before an Ikeja Chief Magistrates Court, Lagos on Monday.
The prosecutor, Inspector Raji Akeem, told the court that the suspects committed the offence on August 13 at Ilasamaja area of Lagos.
The Inspector said, ”The complaint, Mrs Kehinde Samuel, was on her way home from work when the accused stopped her and demanded for her bag, she refused, but they forcefully snatched it from her.
“As the accused were running away from the scene, Samuel shouted for help and the police on patrol pursued and caught them.”
The suspects, however, claimed they were not guilty of the charges.
They were granted bail in the sum of N50,000 each and the case was adjourned till October 10.
