“Take us to London!” 50 migrants “invade” Port Calais ship
France shut Port Calais after 50 migrants forced their way on to a ship, Saturday. Port Calais is not too far from London.
The invasion occurred after 2,000 people staged a pro-migrant demonstration, report say.
City mayor Natacha Bouchart said police have been deployed to the area to restored order.
It is understood that about 50 migrants in Calais boarded a P&O ferry named the Spirit of Britain while it was unloading, BBC News is reporting.
Ferry company DFDS Seaways is calling it a “migrant invasion”.
P&O Ferries described it as a “security incident” and said passengers could expect to a delay of between 90 and 120 minutes.
Thousands of migrants are currently living in camps known as “the Jungle” on the edge of Calais.
They would fancy life in the UK, no doubt..
