Soldier, 3 others die in road accident involving 19 vehicles in Abuja
A multiple road accident at Nyanya, on the Abuja-Keffi road, led to the death of four persons – including a soldier – on Friday, FRSC confirmed.
The FRSC Public Education Officer, Mr Bisi Kazeem, said at least 19 vehicles were involved in the accident.
Kazeem blamed the accident on brake failure, reckless over-speeding and loss of concentration.
Three males and one female were the victims of the accident.
A witness narrated that a woman had alighted her car to confront a motorcycle rider who hit her car when a trailer with failed brake rammed into them.
“The woman came out of her car and held the motorcycle rider, that he must fix her vehicle,” the witness, Osita, said.
“During the argument, a trailer, descending the slope on top speed, lost control and rammed into other vehicles held in traffic at the scene.
“The woman, motorcycle rider and the soldier who was there to make peace, died instantly after they were crushed by the trailer.”
