Siasia gets second chance as Super Eagles’ coach
The Nigerian Football Federation has handed U-23 coach, Samson Siasia, a second chance to coach the Super Eagles following Sunday Oliseh’s resignation.
A statement announcing the appointment reads:
Nigeria has re-appointed Samson Siasia as Head Coach of the Senior National Football Team, Super Eagles. He will work with respected tactician Salisu Yusuf, FIFA U-17 World Cup –winner Emmanuel Amuneke and Alloy Agu for the upcoming 2017 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against Egypt.
Nigeria faces Egypt in March as the team begins it’s Nations’ cup campaign.
Siasia’s first spell as coach of the Super Eagles was between December 2010 and October 2011.His contract was terminated following the team’s failure to qualify for the 2012 Africa Cup of Nations.
