Senate to drill Police IG on live TV over Dino Melaye arrest

The Nigerian Senate has decided to summon the Inspector-General of Police, Ibrahim Idris over the detention of Senator Dino Melaye.
Idris is, on Thursday (today), expected to appear before the lawmakers at the plenary over Melaye’s case and the killings by herdsmen and militias across the country.
Senate President Bukola Saraki affirmed that the plenary session, should be given a live coverage.
“We will take the issue of Senator Dino and we will also use that opportunity to take the recent killings in the last one week, of close to a hundred in the country.” Saraki added.
Dino has been in detention since Tuesday, over allegations that he sponsored political thugs to cause mayhem in Kogi.
