Security guard arraigned for allegedly stealing over 1,400 litres of diesel
It is said that a dog does not eat the bone it’s supposed to watch over, but Aliu Shekoni, a security guard stationed at an MTN mast in Alagbado area of Lagos has a different way of viewing things.
The security guard who is accused of stealing about 1,445 litres of diesel meant for powering the telecommunication mast was arraigned at Ikeja Magistrates’ Court.
A one count charge was brought against the guard for allegedly being responsible for the missing stock of diesel at the MTN mast in Amje Quarters, Alagbado about a month ago.
The accused pleaded not guilty to the charge, as the police prosecutor, Abiola Adewale disclosed that the stolen diesel was worth N375,000.
Mr W. A. Salami, the magistrate presiding over the case granted Shekoni bail of N50,000 with two sureties in like sum. The case was adjourned to December 12 for further hearing.
Shekoni stands a chance of being sentenced to seven years in prison if he is convicted of the crime.
