SDP Chairman Suspended Over Financial Misconduct
The Social Democratic Party (SDP) has announced the suspension of its National Chairman, Shehu Gabam, over serious allegations of financial misconduct.
The party leadership revealed on Monday that Gabam, alongside National Auditor Nnadi Clarkson and National Youth Leader Uchechukwu Chukwuma, has been suspended following accusations of embezzlement and the unauthorised movement of party funds.
Sources within the SDP say the decision was reached after internal investigations flagged irregular financial transactions involving the trio. The suspension, according to party officials, is part of efforts to uphold transparency and restore public confidence in the party’s leadership.
“The party cannot condone any form of financial recklessness or abuse of office,” an insider stated. “This is a decisive step towards accountability.”
