School principal killed while trying to save children from oncoming school bus
The principal at an Indiana elementary school, Susan Jordan, has been hailed as heroic after she offered the ultimate sacrifice in saving several pupils from an oncoming school bus.
Jordan was helping the 10-year-olds board the bus after school when she saw another bus jump the curb. According to CNN, she pushed several students out of harm’s way before being fatally struck.
Two students sustained non-life-threatening injuries, thanks to the heroics of the principal who died on the spot.
It is still unclear why the bus accelerated.
“We lost a great educator today,” superintendent Shawn Smith told Fox59. “Quite frankly ladies and gentlemen, we’re talking about a legend in education.”.
