The rest of the world may think Melania Trump stole Michelle Obama’s lines in a speech she delivered at the GOP Convention on Monday night.

But Republican party’s chief strategist Sean Spicer begs to differ.

Spicer told CNN the words at issue in the speech were “common phrases” used by people like singer John Legend and the character, Twilight Sparkle, the unicorn pony that stars in the animated series, “My Little Pony Friendship is Magic.” (This line was stolen from Reuters).

Yes, the RNC just dragged “My Little Pony into the mess. Smh.

Donald Trump’s campaign manager Paul Manafort has also cleared Melania of any plagiarism.

RNC chairman Reince Priebus had said the speech writer probably mistakenly borrowed lines from Michelle’s 2008 address adding that Trump would probably fire whoever wrote it.

Before delivering the speech, Melania had said “I wrote it myself with a little help”. Many praised Melania for the great speech until journalist Jarrett Hill suggested the speech was probably plagiarised.

Although “Trumpsters” insist 96 per cent of the speech contained Melania’s original ideas, the “stolen” four per cent could harm Trump’s presidential bid.

The controversy had dominated the GOP Convention during which Trump is expected to speak later this week.

There were also concerns Trump’s tweet in which he praised Melania’s speech may have been stolen from a tweet by US President Barack Obama. Is that so? Find out here.
