Prophet TB Joshua is your “Man of the Year”
500 nominees were screened for the “Yoruba Man of the Year Award”, and Joshua came tops.
Prophet Temitope Balogun Joshua is the founder and pastor of Synagogue Church of All Nations.
The “Egbe Omo Oodua Parapo”, a coalition of 35 pan-Yoruba groups drawn from all over the world is the awarder.
The announcement was made following the group’s annual conference in the United States.
Dr. Akinwale Adewunmi who chaired the award committee said the controversial pastor was selected based on “the honour and admiration the pastor had brought to the Yoruba nation especially through his diverse philanthropic activities.
“We are proud that you are a Yoruba man with a global image in the annals of charity. Your charitable projects span 45 countries and aid ‘millions’ on a yearly basis, irrespective of their religion or ethnicity,” Akinwale added in a statement.
“Across the world, many ask travellers from Nigeria: ‘Oh, you are from Pastor T.B. Joshua’s country,” he added.
Meanwhile Joshua’s church is still on trial over its role in the deadly collapse of one of its buildings which killed about 115 persons in September 2014.
