“Pope Francis a disgraceful political puppet,” Donald Trump tells Catholics

The Donald vs The Pope.
Epic Battle: The Donald vs The Pope.

The most powerful religious leader in the world and leader of the Catholic Church, Pope Francis, is “at war” with Donald Trump.

Trump, who’s currently campaigning to become the President of the United States, wants to build a wall between the US and Mexico.

He believes Mexicans are flooding America with drugs and “Mexican rapists.”

Pope Francis, on his visit to Mexico, replied Trump:

A person who thinks only about building walls, wherever they may be, and not of building bridges, is not Christian. This is not the gospel.

The Donald has fired back, and it’s as pungent as expected. Trump said Pope Francis is nothing more than a political puppet.

Trump told a rally in South Carolina:

For a religious leader to question a person’s faith is disgraceful. I am proud to be a Christian.

No leader, especially a religious leader, should have the right to question another man’s religion or faith.

(The pope) said negative things about me. Because the Mexican government convinced him that Trump is not a good guy. He’s being used as a political pawn.

There’s the belief that Islamic State’s ultimate goal is to conquer the Vatican in Rome, Italy – the headquarters of the Catholic Church.

Trump said he’s the only one who can stop that from happening.

"Pope Francis is a political pawn (puppet)", says US presidential candidate Donald Trump. He made the comment after the pope said anyone trying to build walls between countries (like Trump said he would between the US and Mexico) is not a Christian. #NewsroomNG

Trump had also called the pope “a very political person” who doesn’t know jack about immigration. He said that after Pope Francis criticised Trump’s plans to deport illegal migrants if he’s elected president.

We’re not Catholics will be cheering Trump who describes himself as Protestant and Presbyterian.

Pope Francis’ visit to Mexico has churned up a couple of bad news. A video of the pope firing back at overzealous fans who tried to pull him towards a disabled person went viral on Tuesday.

In the video, the pope appeared really angry. We don’t see that from him that much.

What will happen next?
