Police raid guest house in Abuja, arrest 4 suspected human traffickers
Police have arrested four suspected human traffickers at Thales Guest House located at Pipeline Area in Kubwa, Abuja.
The suspects – Onyinyechi Osuoha, 32; Nkechi Chukwuma, 37; Sandra Chi, 32; and Favour James, 27 – were arrested during a raid on the guest house by the police and operatives of the National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons (NAPTIP).
11 girls were were rescued during the operation which took place Thursday night. The place was also sealed up following an intelligence report that it was being used for underage and exploitative prostitution.
Police findings revealed that the suspects often lure the victims, who are mostly underage girls, from various parts of the country, with promises of employment in Abuja.
The girls were, however, tasked to serve clients at the guest house before being lured into prostitution. The suspects would then collect the money paid to them.
