Police parade alleged killers of Major-General Alkali
The alleged killers of retired Major-General Idris Alkali were paraded by the police in Plateau State on Sunday.
Alkali was ambushed on his way to Bauchi from Abuja on September 3, and his remains were found inside a well at Gushwet in Shen community almost two months after.
He was buried in Abuja on Saturday.
Police said thirteen of the suspects were handed over by the Army, and six others turned themselves in after being declared wanted.
Two other suspects remain at large.
“So, the 19 suspects paraded today consist of the 13 handed over to us, and the six that reported themselves to us,” police spokesperson in Plateau, Terna Tyopev, said.
Tyopev said while interrogating the suspects, it was discovered that they were strongly linked with the crime.
