Police nab car snatchers, armed robbers in Kano

Police have arrested a gang of armed robbers who allegedly stole a Mercedes Benz ML350, on Hadeja Road, in Kano.

The alleged robbers were caught at Masaka, Nasarawa State.

The Kano police spokesman, SP Magaji Majiya identified the suspects as Abdulkadir Shaka, Ali Jafaru, Aliyu Audu, and Kenneth Adam.

Majiya said that the gang attacked a resident of Masaka on September 22, 2018 and robbed him of valuables and a Mercedes Benz ML350.

The spokesperson added that the command had also seized a huge amount of dried leaves suspected to be Indian hemp. He said 189 package estimated at N6.6 million were recovered.

Two other suspects, Musbahu Usman aka Dangaja and Nura Hussain aka Lado were also arrested for allegedly conspiring and trailing a bank customer who had just withdrawn N500,000.

The suspects allegedly attacked the victim on Audu Bako Way, while he was entering a tricycle (Keke). The allegedly injured him in the process of obtaining the money from him.

“They were pursued and arrested, while the money was recovered instantly.

“Investigation revealed the duo as habitual criminals, who have been frequently arrested for crimes, such as extortion, pick pocketing, theft of motorcycles  and have been charged to various courts for prosecution,” the police spokesman said.
