Police say they have arrested two suspects in connection with the kidnap of students and staff of the Nigerian Turkish International College, Ogun State.

One Philip Kakadu aka General Kakadu, 29, and Romeo Council aka Raw, 40, have been identified as ringleaders of the gang that carried out the kidnap.

Some gunmen had invaded the NTIC last Friday and abducted three students, a Turkish teacher, a supervisor, a matron and two prospective UTME candidates.

The kidnappers have reportedly demanded a total of N1.2bn ransom.

Kakadu and Raw have confessed to the crime, police say.

Police operatives say they were still exercising caution in storming the hideout of the kidnappers in order not to endanger the lives of the victims.
