Plateau Massacre: IGP Idris deploys choppers for aerial surveillance
Police IG, Ibrahim Idris has deployed two choppers to Plateau to combat the recent spate of killings in the state.
Suspected herdsmen were said to have gruesomely hacked about a 100 persons to death between Saturday and Sunday.
The IGP, in a bid to put an end to the bloodshed, also dispatched two helicopters for aerial surveillance, five Armored Personnel Carriers, and three Police Mobile Force Units to the State today.
The intervention force also includes two Counter-Terrorism units, Police Intelligence unit as well as conventional police personnel from other states.
The move by the IGP, many say, was after the deed had already been done, and would do little to assuage the pain of victims’ families.
Security operatives are expected to be proactive in combating criminal acts across the country.
