PHOTOS: Police recovers fake dollars worth N490m, exotic cars, assault rifles from criminal gang in Niger
A criminal gang paraded by operatives of the Niger State police command have confessed to the various roles they played in their criminal activities.
The 48-man gang were said to have engaged in criminal activities such as armed robbery, kidnapping, car snatching and cattle rustling.
They were paraded on Wednesday, March 7, at the Bosso Division of the Nigeria Police, Niger state command by the force public relation officer, CSP Jimoh Moshood.
Recovered from the suspects were N490m worth of fake dollars, exotic cars, AK47 rifles and pump action guns.
Other items such as: Single barrel guns, SMG rifles, revolver pistol, locally made pistols, 822 rounds of AK47 ammunition, 68 9MM ammunition, live cartridges, Plasma TV sets, Home theatre radio, vehicle trackers demobilizes, wrist watches, laptops, women wrappers, different vehicle number plates, and standing fan, were also recovered from the gang.
One of the suspects, 63-year-old suspected kidnap kingpin, Maitarari Isa Saidu, said he collected N300m and N170m respectively from his last two operations before concentrating on the business of receiving stolen vehicles.
