PHOTOS: “Killers” of Jumia delivery man appear in court
The alleged killers of Mr. Chukwuma Eleje, the Jumia delivery man killed in Port Harcourt, were arraigned in court on Monday (today).
Mr Eleje was allegedly murdered by Naabe and Mbatumukeke, after he had gone to deliver phones to the suspects.
He was killed and dumped in a septic tank.
Naabe and Mbatumukeke traded blame over the crime.
Naabe had said Mbatumukeke threatened to kill him after he found him “packaging something like a black waste bin.”
“I overheard some neighbours asking him (Mbatumukeke) what he was doing close to the septic tank and he gave them an excuse. I went inside and saw bloodstains in the bathroom,” he alleged.
Mbatumukeke on his part, said Naabe hit Mr Eleje “with iron on the head and blood was gushing out. I was afraid; I was vibrating. I didn’t know what to do. God is my witness.”
The deceased’s wife, Mrs Eleje, was also in court today with other relatives.
