Parents land in hospital as 13 children drown in boat mishap in Sokoto
Three males and ten female children have been confirmed dead after their canoe capsized at Rafin Kana dam while trying to cross a river in Sokoto State.
The teenagers, from Rimawa village of Goronyo local government area of the state, died while on a trip.
Some of the parents of the deceased were said to have been admitted in the hospital upon receiving the news of their children’s demise on Monday.
State governor Aminu Waziri Tambuwal paid a condolence visit to families of the victims.
Tambuwal appealed to the aggrieved parents to take solace in God, saying the death was a great loss to the entire state.
