Otedola reveals he got $500,000 bribery payout to Lawan from DSS

Femi Otedola has testified as a witness in an ongoing trial of Farouk Lawan about where he got the money he used to pay the former House of Representatives member in a bribery case.

Testifying in a cross-examination by the counsel of the accused, Mike Ozekhome at the FCT High Court before Justice Angela Otaluka, Otedola disclosed that he received the $500,000 he payed to Lawan from the Department of State Service, DSS.

He said that the money was given to him to indict Lawan after he petitioned the DSS about Lawan’s demand for $3million bribery from his oil company.

Otedola’s oil firm, Zenon Petroleum and Gas Ltd. was under investigation for participating in subsidy scam in 2012 and Lawan offered to exonerate him if he pays the said bribe.
