#OsunRerun: Voting commences in 4 LGAs, despite downpour
Some voters in Osun State defied the rain on Thursday morning to cast their votes for their preferred candidate in the governorship election rerun.
NAN reports that the voters at Polling Unit 17, Ward 5, Adewale Street, Alekuwodo in the capital of the state didn’t mind that the rain was pouring down on them as they stayed on the queue.
When the rain finally stopped, everyone including INEC staff, security men, newsmen and some voters who were already drenched continued with the electoral process.
Voting process has already commenced at four local government areas across the state, but there are reports that some thugs who publicly professed to be working for APC have stormed the Polling Unit one, Ward 8 in Orolu Local Government Area to intimidate opposition and provide cover for voters.
“The thugs strategically stationed at the entrance and around the polling units are causing mayhem in the polling unit,” Premium Times reports.
The outcome of the election will determine Osun State’s next governor between PDP’s Senator Ademola Adeleke and APC’s Gboyega Oyetola.
