Osun: Jealous queen sets house ablaze, kills 3-yr-old step-daughter
A wife of an Oba in Osun State has landed in trouble for allegedly killing her step-wife’s 3-year-old daughter.
Folashade Olawale, along with two others, had allegedly set the step-wife’s house on fire, leading to the death of the child.
The 42-year-old, who is the third wife of Oba Morufdeen Olawale, the Alabudo of Abudo Egbedore LGA of Osun, was arrested after she was reported to the police by her husband.
The state police Commissioner, Olafimihan Adeoye, said Folashade and her accomplices committed the crime on June 6, at about 1am. The step-wife, 20-year-old Olawale Kadija was said to be seriously injured in the incident.
Folashade reportedly told newsmen at the police station that she was jealous of the fourth wife and only engaged the hoodlums to beat her and not to set the house ablaze.
The suspect had divorced two different men and gave birth to eight children before her marriage with the king.
She said she gave birth to only one child for the monarch and the child died sometime ago.
