Oshodi-Apapa Gridlock: Police, others call for patience

A post shared by Newsroom Daily (@newsroomdaily) on

The Lagos State Police boss, Edgal Imohimi, has pleaded with commuters plying the Oshodi-Apapa expressway that the lingering gridlock on the road will be soon be addressed.

The problem, Newsroom gathers, is as a result of various articulated trucks parked indiscriminately on the road.

A regular commuter on the road told us he spends no lesser than an hour on a spot since the past days.

CP Imohimi said at a meeting with stakeholders such as the FRSC, NSCDC, LASTMA, and the Lagos State Ministry of Transportation on Wednesday that the issue was seriously being looked into.

He said the stakeholders will again meet this morning with other stakeholders from the Nigeria Ports authority (NPA), NUPENG, Truck Drivers Union and the Shippers Council of Nigeria with a view to finding ways to ameliorate the traffic situation in Apapa and environs.

Imohimi called for patience from the public.
