#OpenNASS: National Assembly makes good its promise, publishes breakdown of 2017 budget

The National Assembly has made good its promise to run an open budget to the general public by publishing its 2017 budget on Thursday.

Senate president Senator Bukola Saraki had earlier promised to stop NASS from operating an opaque budget and that is now a reality.

The budget showed that the National Assembly has budgeted N125bn as against N115bn in 2016.

The breakdown of the 2017 budget allocation

Total personnel cost takes N23,789,787,880; total overhead cost, N85,878,619,888; and total capital cost, N14,940,196,063.
