One suspect in police net over death of traditional ruler in Enugu

The Police Public Relation Officer of Enugu State, in a statement released on Thursday, said the command has arrested one suspect who was allegedly involved in the murder of the traditional ruler of Ogbozinne community in Nkanu West Local Government of Enugu state.

Recall that the late traditional ruler, Igwe Stephen Nwatu, was allegedly murdered on June 11 in the community over a protracted town union leadership crisis.

It was also reported that over 200 houses were completely destroyed by some groups loyal to the monarch after he was murdered.

The PPRO of the state said the suspect was arrested by some police operatives in the state two days ago, saying that the arrested suspect is “believed to have participated actively in the act”.

He further added that the arrested suspect will assist them in arresting others were involved in the crime.
