Omowunmi Dada confirmed as panellist for NECLive 2026
Omowunmi Dada, Nigerian actor, voice artist and film producer, has been confirmed as a panellist at NECLive 2026, bringing more than a decade of experience in film, television and production to conversations about storytelling and creative ownership in Nigeria’s entertainment industry.
Dada trained in Theatre Arts at the University of Lagos, where she graduated as the best student in her class. Her screen credits span several productions, including Jemeji, Netflix’s Olòturé, Elesin Oba, Funmilayo Ransome-Kuti and The Secret Lives of Baba Segi’s Wives, which featured at the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) and BFI London in 2026.
Beyond acting, she voiced the lead character in Sade, described as Nigeria’s first full-length animated feature, expanding her work into voice acting and animation.
She has also ventured into film production, executive-producing and starring in Black Market, whose premiere attracted 51,000 attendees at Tafawa Balewa Square in Lagos, earning a Guinness World Record.
Her work has attracted further recognition, with Dada nominated for Best Supporting Actress at the 2026 Africa Movie Academy Awards (AMAA). She is also a Global Artist in Residence at the University of Michigan.
Her career reflects a move beyond screen performance into production and creative ownership, with involvement across different stages of film development and storytelling.
At NECLive 2026, Dada brings a perspective shaped by acting, voice performance and film production, offering insight into the opportunities for Nigerian creatives to expand their influence, take ownership of their stories and build sustainable careers across the entertainment industry.
