OFFICIAL: Arsene Wenger to boss Arsenal for two more years
Arsenal manager, Arsene Wenger has ended speculation over his future by signing a two-year contract extension with the North London club.
The Premier League club announced the deal on Wednesday.
Wenger had come under heavy criticisms from fans and critics alike for his team’s inability to compete for top honours.
The Frenchman, who has spent 21 years at the club, however, guided his team to the FA Cup glory last Saturday.
It was his 7th personal FA Cup trophy – a record in England.
The 67-year-old Frenchman had hinted he would stay following the FA Cup triumph and the decision has now been made official following meetings with the Gunners’ board earlier this week.
“I love this club and I am looking forward to the future with optimism and excitement. We are looking at what we do well and how we can be stronger everywhere,” Wenger told Arsenal’s website.
