Inspector Ogunyemi Olalekan has been dismissed from the Police Force with immediate effect after he was found culpable in the death of Kolade Johnson by police authorities.
Kolade was shot and killed by officers carrying out a raid at Onipetesi area of Lagos on Sunday while watching a football match.
Olalekan was, after the conclusion of trial on Thursday, found guilty of of discreditable conduct by “shooting and killing Kolade Johnson,” and other offences after facing the internal disciplinary committee.
The committee, however, found Sergeant Godwin Orji, another officer arrested alongside Olalekan, not guilty of partaking in the unlawful exercise.
Orji has been set free, while Olalekan has been transferred for prosecution.
