NLC reaches agreement with FG over minimum wage, calls off nationwide strike
November 6, 2018
The nationwide strike expected to begin on Tuesday (today) will no longer hold, the NLC has said.
The Union’s Chairman, Ayuba Wabba said Monday midnight that an agreement had been reached with the Federal Government on a new minimum wage.
Wabba didn’t reveal details of the agreement.
He said President Buhari will receive the report by the committee Tuesday afternoon, following which the agreement would be made public.
Buhari had pleaded with the Union on Monday to cancel the strike, citing the problems his administration inherited from previous governments.
