#NigeriaDecides2019: Ajimobi concedes defeat, congratulates Balogun
The Oyo state governor, Abiola Ajimobi has conceded defeat after losing his bid to become the Senator of Oyo South Senatorial District in Saturday’s poll.
Dr Kola Balogun of the PDP was declared winner of the district after scoring a total vote of 105,720 against Ajimobi’s 92,579 votes.
Ajimobi, like many other governors chose to run for Senate in order to still be in government when his tenure as governor ends in May.
He lost, and conveyed his acceptance of the election result and congratulated Dr. Balogun through a statement from his Special Adviser on Communication and Strategy, Mr Bolaji Tunji.
He also congratulated other APC members who won in other parts of the state.
