Nigeria Army to withdraw troops from Aba, Umuahia
According to the media unit of Governor Okezie Ikpeazu of Abia State, The Governor has assured residents of Abia communities of safe security, he advised those living and doing businesses in the state to rest their oars and start planning to go about their activities diligently without fear.
Although, he corroborated that security in the state in the past two days has become a thing of great concern to both the government and the citizenry; this he confided had spun the state government into making several consultations.
He promises that solders on the streets of Aba and Umuahia will be withdrawn from the state by tomorrow morning, but that the pre-existing military will remain at the strategic checkpoints of the state.
Governor Ikpeazu noted that with the expected exit of soldiers from the streets, he will not tolerate agitators and protesters taking over the streets for any reason at all.
