NDLEA operatives go into hiding after shooting four persons in Lagos raid

Some operatives of the Nigerian Drug Law Enforcement Agency who allegedly killed four persons at Tapa Street, Lagos Island about two weeks ago are still at large.

The unidentified NDLEA operatives were said to have shot sporadically while on the hunt for suspected drug peddlers on April 17.

A pupil and a security guard of Dolphin High School, Lagos Island were reportedly hit by stray bullets.

The unidentified pupil reportedly died from the injury he sustained, while the school guard, Godwin Nsidieti, lost his left eye to the gunshots.

A witness said at the time of the incident that some youths in the area had attempted to chase the plain-clothed operatives away.

The plain-clothed operatives were said to have hurriedly wore their NDLEA jackets just as they started shooting.

Two other victims, a civil servant and a man said to be a resident of Igunu Street, Nurudeen Animashaun, were also affected.

Nsidieti’s bother said he had been operated on three times.
