MultiChoice Nigeria has also joined the list of corporate organisations and individuals who are showing responsibility by donating to support the government’s fight to curb the spread of COVID-19 in the country.

MultiChoice, on Wednesday, announced a donation of N1.2 billion to support the government’s efforts in ameliorating the impact of the Covid-19 outbreak in Nigeria. Of this sum, the leading entertainment and media company said it is contributing N200 million to the Federal Government.

The intervention which is in line with MultiChoice Nigeria’s values as a responsible corporate organisation and leader in the media and creative sector, is aimed at supporting the authorities in fighting the pandemic and reducing its attendant impact on Nigeria’s national economy.

According to the Chairman MultiChoice Nigeria, Adewunmi Ogunsanya (SAN) “We are contributing N250 million to the Federal and Lagos State Governments’ efforts in providing adequate healthcare delivery facilities to fight Covid-19.”

“We are doing this because we recognize the impact that the Covid-19 pandemic has on Nigerians and the economy. We hope our contributions to NCDC, the Federal and State Governments, alongside other donations, will go a long way towards effective management of the outbreak,” Ogunsanya added.

According to the Nigeria Center for Disease Control (NCDC), the country presently has 151 confirmed cases of the deadly virus which has continued to spread across the world and causing lockdown of activities. While government and health officials are battling to contain the spread, corporate organsations are not leaving them to face the battle alone as they have continued to provide supports by donating funds and medical equipment.
