Mother, daughter rain hot water mixed with pepper on neighbour in Osun
A mother and her daughter are facing charges over attempted murder in Osogbo, Osun State.
Basirat Lamidi, 50, and Taiye, 35, allegedly attempted to kill a neighbor by raining hot water mixed with pepper on her.
The accused were arraigned before an Osogbo Chief Magistrates’ Court on Thursday.
NAN reports that they both face a two count charge of conspiracy and attempted murder.
Police prosecutor, Inspector Gafari Musilimi, told the court how both women joined hands in assaulting the victim, Rebecca Oladosu at Okeyuka Village on October 10.
The cause of the fight was unknown.
Musilimi said Rebecca has been admitted at the hospital for receiving treatment, due to the “life-threatening injury” she sustained during the incident.
He said the crimes breached Sections 516 and 320 of the Criminal Code, Laws of Osun, 2003.
Basirat and Taye, however, pleaded not guilty on the charges.
They were granted bail of N500,000 each with one surety that stays within the court jurisdiction, with a proper proof of tax payment.
The Magistrate, Mrs Falilat Sodamade, adjourned the case till November 13 for hearing.
