Man “slaughters” daughter, 13, for “chatting with boyfriend” on social media
A Thai man, Surin Kaewrae, has landed in trouble for slashing his 13-year-old daughter’s throat over her constant presence on social media.
Kaewrae, 41, was said to have attacked the girl with a knife following an argument over her “excessive use of Facebook and a smartphone.”
Thinking he had killed the girl, Kaewrae reportedly fled with another 5-year-old daughter of his, before he was caught on Monday.
The unnamed girl was being treated in hospital.
Kaewrae reportedly has a history of criminal acts. He had previously been sentenced to three years imprisonment for other crimes.
He reportedly told the police that he had severally warned his daughter to study rather than chat endlessly with her boyfriend.
Kaewrae’s wife, Hattaya Kaewrae, attempted to physically attack him but was held back by police, reports say.
The suspect had been charged with attempted murder.
