Members grumble as APC postpones governorship primary election again
The APC gubernatorial primary election to determine the party’s candidate ahead of the 2019 general elections has been postponed.
The election involving party members which was scheduled to hold Monday (today) will now hold on Tuesday, October 2.
A source within the party told Newsroom early Monday morning that members were already gathered to vote at the ward in Abesan Estate, Ipaja area of the state.
“It has now been postponed to Tuesday. There are a couple of things they want to iron out,” the card carrying member told us.
The source, however, told us not all party members were pleased with the continued postponement of the election, as it was preventing them from going about their other businesses.
“I have somewhere important to be tomorrow, but now I have to reschedule,” the member said. “I’m currently with some other members at the ward and there are complaints.”
One of the aspirants, Babajide Sanwo-Olu apparently also didn’t know about the postponement until this morning, as he had called for support in a tweet that insinuated the election was taking place today.
“Good morning my dear Lagosians, once again I thank you all for your affection and support. Today is the day, let us all go out peacefully and vote in the APC primaries, thank you,” Sanwo-Olu wrote on his Twitter.

In Governor Akinwunmi Ambode’s speech on Sunday, he had alleged that the party was trying to shut him from voting in the primary, as he didn’t have the new membership card.
