Manchester United New Signings

De Ligt, a highly sought-after Netherlands international centre-back, joins the Red Devils in a deal valued at €50 million (£42.7 million). The transfer includes an initial fee of €45 million (£38.4 million) with an additional €5 million (£4.3 million) in performance-related add-ons. The 24-year-old is set to make his debut for United in their Premier League opener against Fulham on Friday, August 16.

The defender, who previously played under Manchester United boss Erik ten Hag at Ajax, enjoyed a successful stint at Bayern Munich over the past two seasons. During his time with the Bavarian giants, De Ligt made 73 appearances and netted five goals. His move to Old Trafford brings a wealth of experience and a formidable presence to United’s backline.

Right-back Noussair Mazraoui also makes the switch to Manchester United after Bayern Munich agreed to let him go. The Moroccan, who was nearing the end of his contract with Bayern Munich, joins Manchester United to replace Aaron Wan-Bissaka, who moved to West Ham this week. His arrival at United bolsters the squad’s defensive options as the team gears up for a competitive season.

With the acquisitions of De Ligt and Mazraoui, Manchester United are now turning their attention to strengthening their midfield. The Old Trafford outfit are in talks with PSG regarding Manuel Ugarte, though PSG have yet to soften their stance on the player’s price. Ugarte, highly regarded despite limited Ligue 1 starts, is eager to join the English giants.
