Man to spend 6 years in jail for spending businessman’s N7m in Ibadan
A man tasked to help a businessman invest a sum of N7 million has been sentenced to twenty-four years imprisonment for diverting the money for his personal use.
Oladipo Olutope, according to the EFCC, collected the sum from one Yusuf Gbejami Lawal at Ibadan between January 26 and December 19, 2016.
Olutope was arrested and charged with four count bordering on stealing by conversion. He was earlier arraigned in January 2018 and was found guilty on all charges.
Justice Owolabi of the State High Court, Ibadan, Oyo State in his judgment on Monday sentenced Olutope to six years jail term on each count. The convict was also ordered to restitute a sum of N10.4 million to the victim.
The sentences on all counts will run concurrently.
