Man slits wife’s throat, throws dying body from rooftop
A man who slit his wife’s throat before throwing her dying body down from a rooftop has been arrested.
The deceased woman has been identified as Alinafe Kalirani by the Malawi police.
A police officer said Lufeyo Kapukwa, after slitting his wife’s throat, “took the body of Sato as she was battling for life, lifted it up to the roof of the house and let if fall down with force, splashing blood all over the place”.
The couple had quarreled on Monday after which the wife left their house and decided to live with her mother.
“On Tuesday, around 1 am, the husband entered his mother-in-law’s house through a window and entered the bedroom where his wife slept with their two year daughter,” a police spokesperson said.
After killing her, Kapukwa ran away and went to his house but an angry mob followed him there where they severely beat him before handing him over to Mkanda Police unit.
He was referred to Mchinji District Hospital where medical officials referred him to Kamuzu Central Hospital in Lilongwe because of his life threatening wounds.
Kapukwa is still battling for his life at the central hospital..
