Ghana’s President-elect Mahama Launches ‘Operation Recover All Loot’
President-elect of Ghana, John Dramani Mahama, has set up a committee tasked with recovering funds stolen from the country.
This was contained in a statement signed by the Spokesperson for the Mahama Transition Team, Felix Kwakye Ofosu.
According to him, all those complicit in these corrupt practices will, also, be brought to book.
The mission has been tagged, “Operation Recover All Loot” (ORAL).
Ofosu disclosed that team comprises of: Hon. Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, Chairman; former Auditor-General Daniel Domelovo; retired COP Nathaniel Kofi Boakye; private legal practitioner Martin Kpebu; and investigative journalist, Raymond Archer.
“Anti-corruption, with Operation Recover All Loot (ORAL) as a central focus, was a cornerstone of H.E. John Mahama’s 2024 campaign platform. He intends to act decisively on these commitments from the outset,” the statement read.
Dramani Mahama, who was elected President of Ghana in the country’s election earlier this month, has made the elimination of corruption of one his main goals upon assumption of office.
