LCDA Chairman’s “ultramodern toilet” a further stain on LGs
A Chairman of Eredo Local Government Development Area (LCDA), Saliu Adeniyi, last Wednesday launched, amid fanfare, an “Ultramodern Staff Toilet”.
Newsroom’s findings reveal that a water closet sells for about N30,000, but the Epe Local Government in Lagos State, which Eredo LCDA falls under, was allocated a N304m sum by the Federal Account Allocation Committee (FAAC) in 2017.

A sum of N110.87 billion was disbursed by the FAAC to the Local governments in July 2018, from the revenue generated by the federation in the month of June.
In July 2017, Alimosho LG received N623 million from the almost N7.5m allocated to the LGs in Lagos State.
Many Local Government representatives across the country are considered ‘figure heads’ within their localities, with little or no impact from their offices.
