Lagos: Woman delivered of a baby boy in BRT bus
Passengers of a BRT bus in Ketu, an area of Lagos, graciously turned emergency doctors in helping a woman deliver a baby on her way to the hospital early Wednesday morning.
Reports say the unnamed woman, who boarded the bus at Irawo bus-stop along Mile 12/Ketu axis, suddenly became uncomfortable during transit, prompting her unprepared co-passengers to swing into action.
All male passengers were reportedly made to evacuate the bus and trans-loaded into another bus at Ketu bus-stop, so as to afford the female passengers enough space and privacy.
After several minutes of pushes, the baby boy who couldn’t wait to see the beautiful world was out of the womb.
The emotional mother was reportedly dropped off at a nearby standard maternity clinic for proper care.
A similar occurrence was recorded on a New Year’s day in Enugu, when a doctor delivered a stranded, heavily pregnant woman of a baby boy in a Keke Napep tricycle.
