A 27-year old man has been arrested for posing as a 2nd Lieutenant Army Officer in Lagos.

The Lagos State Task Force Chairman, SP Olayinka Egbeyemi, revealed this at the Task Force headquarters in Ikeja.

Egbeyemi said the suspect presented himself as a 2nd Lieutenant in the Nigerian Army in order to secure the release of an impounded commercial vehicle by the operatives of the Task Force but his claim was discovered to be false.

He also said further investigation revealed that the suspect had claimed being the son of a General in the Nigerian Army during an admission interview into Nigerian Defence Academy (NDA), while he had also impersonated officers of the Nigerian Army, Navy and Police Force on different occasions in order to secure the release of suspects or detainees at police stations across Lagos metropolis.
