Lagos suicide: Police finally recover Dr Orji’s body

Lagos Marine Police have found the body of a Nigerian doctor who apparently committed suicide on Sunday.

“The body of Dr. Orji was recovered at about 4.00 P.M today 22nd March, 2017 by the Marine Police,” Lagos Statement Emergency Management Authority (LASEMA) said in a statement.

“The body was identified by some of his family including the driver in the presence of the Commissioner of Police Lagos State, Mr Fatai Owoseni.

“The body will be handed over to the family while investigation continues,”

“LASEMA General Manager, Adesina Tiamiyu, met with the family members to express condolences on behalf of the Lagos State Government and therefore declare the search closed,” the statement read.

The media, including the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) mistook him for Port Harcourt nurse Allwell Oji.

Police, on Tuesday, said they found the doctor’s body but his mother said the recovered corpse wasn’t her son.

That changed today with the recovery of another body which has now been identified.
