Suicide: Doctor jumps off 3rd Mainland Bridge into Lagos lagoon
Motorists on Third Mainland Bridge were greeted with a shocking sight on Sunday evening, as a man was seen jumping to his death from the bridge.
The man, eyewitnesses say, had told his driver to pull over on the bridge that he needed to pee.
He then alighted from the car and leapt over the bridge’s railings into the water.
He was riding in his grey-coloured NISSAN SUV, with registration number LND476EE, before the sad incident around Adekunle, inward the popular bridge, at about 4.50pm today (Sunday).
Rescue efforts were immediately launched, as the Lagos State Emergency Agency arrived at the scene.
LASEMA said in a statement obtained by Newsroom Nigeria that the victim has been identified as a medical doctor, named simply as Orji.
